Italian artist Ian Bertolucci graduated in 2019 from the Academy of Fine Arts of Carrara specialising in painting and visual arts. His realistic oil paintings are characterised by dense, bright colours, intense light, and strong contrasts, which blend to form Bertolucci’s colourful lifelike works.
Rhythm, repetition and playfulness are fundamental elements in Bertolucci’s art with candies, balloon animals and plush toys in reflective, translucent materials being at the centre of his current creative interest. The artist himself describes his process: “I paint what my inner child craves: a hyper colorful and extra sugary world.”
Bertolucci’s bright palettes and fun objects, painted through realism, create a strong sense of joy, dazzling viewers and forcing them to look for every single detail in the composition.
Bertolucci is represented in Taiwan, Spain and Australia and is garnering significant attention around the world.
