For Melbourne based artist Michelle Fogarty painting is her passion. She finds endless joy in colour, pattern and nature.
About this exhibition Michelle says: “The aim of my paintings is to represent a moment in time, a conversation, a gathering, each with it’s own story to tell. Whether it is a fleeting moment or a long afternoon, I can imagine people sitting around the table talking, laughing and enjoying life. My paintings are usually painted from above, as though someone is watching over the table, observing the colours, shapes, and the way the shadows play upon the scene.
I named the show ‘Memories and Moments’ as it depicts what the world is currently experiencing. The introduction of landscape into my work was to bring a sense of serenity into our lives. It’s a window into the Australian landscape combining my love of flora and the great outdoors.”
