“The looseness of my brushwork in this piece is unlike my usual style. It’s about taking risks and letting go. Some of the drip marks could have easily been brushed away or wiped clean for crisp lines but I let the unexpectedness of it make decisions for itself. I released control and became fearless to allow for the painting to be what it needed to be. No two splashes look alike, and neither does anyone’s life or my paintings. Our choices diving in are ours to make, but the consequences, ripples, or even splashes are out of our control and can result in something that is brief but beautiful.” – Beau B Frank
