Brazilian artist Igor Villares Rosa projects his personal narrative through the unique aesthetic of his work. A self-taught artist, Villares Rosa employs various techniques that he has developed from years of exploration and experimentation. There is a tantalising playfulness to his work that could well be inspired by his appreciation for sensory experience.
For Villares Rosa, art permeates life, where animals and nature feature heavily in his work, and is communicated with an urban edge. This influence derives from time spent in Caraiva, a remote picturesque village flanked by a mangrove lined river and the Atlantic Ocean.
Villares Rosa views the world through a natural lens, synthesising that perspective with the aliveness of colour which makes his work idiosyncratic and most certainly, full of visual wonder.
Represented exclusively by 19 Karen, Villares Rosa works primarily on a commissionable basis, creating bespoke pieces intentionally for collectors and their purpose. He has an exclusive production of work in the USA, Europe and Australia.
