Carole King

Represented Artist

Carole King is a Newcastle born and now Gold Coast Hinterland based artist. She has been painting mangroves and their coastal environments in recent times as she has a great attachment to them. Much of her work expresses her deep connection and respect for the environment. She sees trees as having personalities and human attributes and paints them with these characteristics in mind.

Carole works with mixed media, often subtly incorporating magazine and newspaper clippings. In this way, she creates a dialogue concerning the impact that humans are having on our environment. In July 2014 Carole was named the winner of the $50,000 Waterhouse Natural Science Art Prize with the South Australian Museum.
