Artist Statement
The iconic kookaburra always makes me smile – The world’s largest kingfisher with a distinctive song. I like to anthropomorphise these birds – admiring their sardonic grin, their cheeky behaviour especially when stealing food at barbecues. And best of all, they LAUGH.
