Glendon Cordell – Other Worldly Escapes

The pieces for this exhibition evolve around colour, the imagination, expansive & varying landscapes and mark making on canvas.

Working with synthetic polymer paint to create multiple layers, I draw from memory and imagination to form landscapes with an otherworldly birdseye view.

My love of colour is a strong presence in these four paintings. Bright pops of pink and orange not only accentuate the landscape and emphasise levels but also draw the eye. By using different brushes to draw lines, shapes, and shadows within the emerging landscapes, or mark making, I create texture linking the image to the textures associated with nature.

My intention for this body of work is to inspire the audience to view and reinterpret the world through a lens of colour and texture.
