ARTIST BIOGRAPHY

Gabriel Hune, based in Brazil, is an artist illustrator influenced by the Brazilian and Chilian urban graffiti art scene. Hune began producing works on canvas and pieces of discarded wood before progressing to murals and streetscapes where, through experimentation and exposure, he was able to hone his striking, expressive and unique style.

Hune’s vivacious characters are heavily influenced by cartoon, pop surrealism and geometry with playful themes, a delicate palette and a subtle intention to provoke unconscious and varied reflections within the viewer. Hune approaches a piece viscerally, immersing himself in the subject matter, an idea or feeling. It is in this intuitive space; the surreal image appears and what is impossible to live in our real plane forms within Hune’s mind.

A recurrent theme in his works, is the lovelorn character who is always in search of the heart. “Like me, he believes that by using the heart, life flows better, with more wisdom and light.  When I’m able to reflect the light that shines in my heart in the form of fantasy, magic happens, and everything is made possible.”

Hune has exhibited nationally and internally with his mural work adorning urban landscapes around the world.
