BIOGRAPHY

Sol Felpeto a multicultural artist born in Venezuela. She spent her childhood and adolescence between Buenos Aires-Madrid, sporadically living in other countries with her family. In Argentina she began her studies in veterinary medicine school but after three years she decided to follow her creative drive and studied Fashion and Creative Direction at European Institute of Design (IED).

An illustrator and painter with her own style, after graduating Felpeto immediately participated in her very first exhibition along with other emerging artists of the generation. The artist anthropologises animals as a key feature of her work, innovative work that borrows from icons like Basquiat, yet remains distinctive through an unapologetic vessel of unrestrained self-expression. According to the artist, this freedom is cornerstone to the new world of art.

Felpeto’s work has expanded to include popular characters from mainstream media often alongisde her satrical personifications of cats. The global appeal for Felpeto’s work stems from the artists authentic interpretation of the modish genre of the contemporary art scene – digitalised characters and cartoons. Her work isn’t contrived nor infuenced by the trend, rather it originates from the artists experience in the underpinnings of the genre’s foundations; animals, popular culture and illustrative design.

Sol Felpeto’s work has been exhibited in Miami, San Diego, China, Taiwan, Korea, Barcelona, Berlin, Doha and other locations around the globe.
