Abigael Whittaker is a Brisbane based artist describing personal emotions and honesty through ornate figurative based compositions.  Her work invokes stories intrinsic to human experience contextualized by personal allegory.

 

Abigael holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Fashion Design at the Queensland University of Technology. It is her close relationship with fashion that sees much of her work based upon "a strong illustrative quality combined with elements of collage, painting and textile based details." Abigael currently lives and works in Brisbane, Queensland. She is represented by:

2006 -                           Winner, People's Choice Award - Youth Week Fashion Parade –QUT Kelvin Grove Campus,

Designed & Manufactured 4 women’s wear outfits and 2 menswear outfits to be presented in a runway show format. A total of 10 designers participated in this event.

2004 -                           "Homeshow Project" - Brisbane Convention Centre

Collaborative project with Interior Design students. Designed & manufactured garments to be used in a performance piece to showcase

Interior Design project entrants. Styled &photographed outfits for website

2003 -                           "Echo Project" - Old Parliament House - Gardens Pt, Brisbane

                                    Collaborative project with 2nd year Fashion Design students and Australian designers.

 Choreographed & performed fashion showcase for industry audience.

2003 -                           Australian Fashion Design Awards – Brisbane City Hall

Designed & manufactured two garments for entry into the awards. Styled & photographed outfits for folio work.
